You Can't Stop A Broke Woman From Shopping

Shades of spring in coral, aqua, red and canary

Everyone knows that one of the best things about starting any new endeavor is shopping for it. Laura and I have pulled, pushed, climbed and crawled though every nook and cranny of gigantic warehouses and tiny rooms in sometimes bizarre locations. So now we sit among our prized stacks with visions of the bags they will become. We laughingly covet some of each others’ special finds; and I have been known to let a piece from Laura’s Atlanta warehouse make its way into my Birmingham-bound merchandise. We have pearlized leather, embossed leather, embroidered suede, bejeweled and bedazzled fabrics. I know you’ll find something you can’t live without.

Next Time, Don’t Meet Us There; Beat Us There!

The Atlanta February 7th show was a happening party with a Latin beat. Special thanks to Jen and Alfredo Piceno for allowing us to use a corner of their space for our show. Not only did customers shop in the high energy Salsambo dance studio, we all got our moves on in the complimentary Zumba session. If you don’t know what Zumba is, it’s an aerobics dance exercise class set to Latin rhythms. The reggaeton, salsa, and hip-hop beats combined with the high energy of the instructors were so infectious that we found it impossible not to dance. If you live in Atlanta and need a fun way to burn off some fried chicken or pecan pie, visit http://www.salsambo.com/ to sign up for the class. It was great fun for the body and the fashion-forward soul.

Bags for sale!! Bags for sale!!

Pam Harper has fun modeling bags.

Since then, we were privileged to host our first ever private show for Les Jeunes Dammes at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Founded by Odessa Woolfolk in 1992, the 58,000 square-foot facility houses memorabilia, art work, and exhibits honoring the works and lives of civil and human rights leaders, both domestic and international. It is an impressive tribute. Check out their web space at http://www.bcri.org/. As a result of all these shows, a lot of inventory in our catalog is sold out!

But fret not!! We’re preparing a show for spring to that is sure to knock your socks off. Bright colors, sassy new designs, in a fabulous array of textures will definitely put the spring back in your step. We’ll be in our Birmingham showroom at 2707 Bush Boulevard. March 28, 2009 is the date, 12:00pm to 5:00pm is the time. Watch your email inbox for the eVite and if you are not on our mailing list, be sure to forward your information to laurannhandbags@gmail.com.
