Frequently Asked Questions

Since starting this little venture, we have received a fair number of questions. So we decided to answer the most common ones in this forum. If you have some other question you just can't resist posing, drop us a line at LaurAnnHandbags@gmail.com.

1. Who is LaurAnn?

The name LaurAnn is derived from the names of the designers/owners, Laura and Andria. The “Laur” is for Laura and the “Ann” is for Andria. It is also believed that the name is derived from the Latin phrase “Lux Mundi Est Laurangelius Totem” or “The light of the world is found in a LaurAnn handbag.”

2. Who makes the handbags?

LaurAnn products are designed and sewn by Laura and Andria, the designers/owners of LaurAnn Handbags. After selecting the materials and hardware, they painstakingly assemble each bag on sewing machines in their respective living and/or dining rooms, at least until a steady stream of highly-skilled seamstress willing to work for sweat-shop wages becomes available.

3. Are the bags in the catalog or on display for sale?

Yes! LaurAnn Handbags has both ready-to-carry and custom-to-carry products. If you see something you like on the table or in the catalog, by all means, buy it.

4. What’s the difference between ready-to-carry and custom-to-carry?

Ready-to-carry bags are finished products displayed in the catalog or at a party that are available for immediate purchase. Custom-to-carry bags are bags that LaurAnn will make to meet specifications set by the customer.

5. I see one I like, but I don’t see the color I want. Now what?

Panic not. This is a perfect opportunity to purchase a custom-to-carry bag. Contact laurannhandbags@gmail.com to get started.

6. How do I place an order for a ready-to-carry bag?

Start by sending an email to Laurannhandbags@gmail.com. In your email, specify the model name of the bag and include its description as it appears in the catalog. Please also include your shipping information and a phone number where you can be reached to confirm the order. Do not include any credit card numbers in your email request.

7. How do I place an order for a custom-to-carry bag?

Start by sending an email to laurannhandbags@gmail.com with your request. Provide the model name of the bag and some hints about how you want the bag made. Be sure to include your phone number and/or watch your email. LaurAnn will contact you for more specific details about the colors, materials and hardware you would like.

8. If I place a custom-to-carry order, how long before it’s delivered?

When custom-to-carry bags are created, the materials are purchased exclusively for that project. Upon placing the order, a 50% deposit is required to get the production started.
The second half of the payment is due when the product is delivered. Allow 6 – 8 weeks for delivery of a custom-to-carry order. LaurAnn will work closely with you during the production process to make sure that the finished product meets your needs.

9. Do I have to wait for a party to order something?

Absolutely not! If you are checking out the blog and you see something you like, please send an email to the laurannhandbags@gmail.com to place your order.

10. Do you take credit cards?

LaurAnn accepts credit cards, debit cards and electronic checks through PayPal. All you have to do is visit http://www.paypal.com/, click the Send button, and enter LaurAnnHandbags@gmail.com in the To box. We also accept cash, checks and any other funds you would like to donate for the designer/owners’ personal shopping endeavors.

11. Where can I get a catalog?

Request a PDF or print version of the catalog by emailing laurannhandbags@gmail.com.

12. How can I find out the status of my order?

Contact laurannhandbags@gmail.com for information regarding your order.

13. What about shipping?

All shipping fees will be assumed by the customer. That means you.

14. When is the next party?

As long as you are on our mailing list, watch your email for eVites to the parties. If you are just chomping at the bit to attend one, consider hosting it yourself. Forward an email to laurannhandbags@gmail.com for more information.

15. When are you going to put these things on the clearance rack?

16. What if something happens to my bag?

LaurAnn makes every effort during the design and manufacturing process to ensure that the handbags are able to withstand standard and customary use. In the unfortunate event that a strap breaks or a bead falls off, LaurAnn will repair the item. If you were using your tiny LaurAnn evening bag to carry a crown rib roast and you stain the lining with au jus, then you are, to use an industry term, S.O.L.

17. Can I make suggestions about which bags you make next?

LaurAnn loves gathering feedback from customers. If you have an idea for a product, event or service, please forward an email to laurannhandbags@gmail.com. While we are open to customer suggestions and ideas, please bear in mind that all complaints are handled by the main office in Uzbekistan.
